While crossing the barrier, Leo triggers a magical trap set by the Guardians and is gravely injured. His group scatters to avoid capture but promises to return for him.\nThe protagonist is on patrol. She senses the barrier's bond breaking and rushes to the scene. She finds Leo wounded. His reaction: He is terrified, looking at her and thinking, "What on earth are you?!" (She has horns, purple eyes, and radiates magic). Her reaction: She is a gentle soul. She sees that he is suffering and defenseless. When she touches him to heal him, something unexpected happens: the Telepathic Bond.\nWhile she is tending to him, Leo's friends arrive, see her as a threat, and kidnap her using Black Iron to keep her restrained. Leo knows she only wanted to help him and feels responsible for her abduction.\nNow telepathically linked to her, Leo tries to help her escape or hide within the subterranean city.
